Sarawak Regatta

An annual event, it is carried out at the Kuching Waterfront. Categories of races range from 7-paddlers to 30-paddlers rowing, kayaking and jetski. There were also a Craft Exhibition and some local Traditional Games being carried out during the regatta which was held from 1st August to 3rd August. This is my second trip to such an event, the first being I-don't-know-when. Here are some of the pictures taken.

There were thousands of people along Kuching Waterfront. One could hardly move around in that crowd.

Spectators of the Sarawak Regatta could be seen in as far off as the Ford Margherita, Jalan Astana.

Locally known as Bot Tambang (river taxi), they rested along the river enjoying the regatta too.

Macro outing

Woke up at 6 in the morning on a Sunday, was at Fat Cat Kopitiam, Tabuan Laru by 7am to meet up with the gang of photographers. Half an hour later after breakfast (I had the Sarawak Laksa with a hot coffee), we proceeded to the Stutong Walk for our session. Everyone was pulling out their gadgets (MACRO STUFF WITH TRIPOD AND ALL), and I was like...errrrr, I do not have anything with me for macro shooting (should have asked earlier). I was totally lost, but being already there I had to make use of what I had in hand. The results of my days' work...starting with the pic that made Jo go "eee.... what's that?" hairy worm. Here it goes:
