Shooting artifacts at the Main Bazaar Road, we met a 68 year old Hokkien uncle who was kind enough to pose for a couple of shots for us. It was made known to us that he was a regular model for tourists from Japan, Europe and others who take photographs of him. It took him 3-years to grow his beard and believe me when I said "kind", this uncle is really a nice fellow.

The Sarawak TYT Birthday celebration was held at the Central Padang in Kuching yesterday. I was there with fellow photographers to do some street shootings. There were more than 100 other photographers and thousands of spectators present.

The first mosque in Kuching, Sarawak was built on this site in 1847. It was later replaced with the present mosque in 1968. The Kuching City Mosque can accommodate up to 4000 worshippers. Its distinctive golden dome is a recognized landmark of Kuching.

Lil Birds
These images were taken at Jo's parents' home. Her dad would hang bananas on the tree branches in their backyard for the birds to feed on. There're more of other species which I have yet to photograph. Presently these are what I have managed so far.

Sunrise @ Buntal Fishing Village
To capture these images below, I had to wake up at 4am in the morning and travel to Buntal Fishing Village on an empty stomach. If you are lucky, the sky would start lighting up around 5.30am, or else one can just pack up and go home. Luck was with me for this is my first photo trip to the village. Not the end of the story, I encountered a sea snake when I was walking on the beach and the look of it caused me to freeze and have goose bumps. Secondly, when you plan to go there for this type of photo shoot, don't forget to carry with you a mosquito repellent (I learned the hard way, as I did not have any).

Majlis Bercukur
My first commercial photowork. Majlis Bercukur is similar to the Chinese custom of inviting relatives and guests to a dinner reception after a month of the birth of their baby (full moon) and also the cutting of the baby's hair. The Malays would be holding this event 7-days onwards from the birth of their baby. This baby is 4 months old.
The Quran recital team.
The Food.
One of the guests at the function - I took a photo of him cos of the big beautiful eyes.
This fellow here is their in-house photographer.
