Woke up at 6 in the morning on a Sunday, was at Fat Cat Kopitiam, Tabuan Laru by 7am to meet up with the gang of photographers. Half an hour later after breakfast (I had the Sarawak Laksa with a hot coffee), we proceeded to the Stutong Walk for our session. Everyone was pulling out their gadgets (MACRO STUFF WITH TRIPOD AND ALL), and I was like...errrrr, I do not have anything with me for macro shooting (should have asked earlier). I was totally lost, but being already there I had to make use of what I had in hand. The results of my days' work...starting with the pic that made Jo go "eee.... what's that?" hairy worm. Here it goes:
Some of the flowers found there... at as close-up as I could get to.
"The life after death", some growth found on dead or almost dead wood.
The pros at work, really hardworking bunch. They spent like hours trying to capture a perfect shot of just ONE single subject. Some of their works can be viewed via www.spas.com.my.
Living things at the park other than visitors like us.
The hairy-worm-disliked-by-Jo, same worm as in the first pic.

Ethan went to a birthday dinner
Ethan was at the birthday dinner of Cynthia Ee Ee cum grandparents' 36th Wedding Anniversary last night. He however only got to drink milk, was quite well behaved and stayed inside his stroller while we ate. The dinner lasted more than 2 hours at Joyous Shanghai.
Grandma, Ethan and Birthday Girl.
Grandpa, Grandma, BG, Ethan, Siaw Ping and Jo.
Grandpa, Xander (Ethan's cousin), Grandma, Ethan and BG.
Unable to post the above last night, had to sleep early for today's photography outing. Needed to wake up at 6am...arghhhhhh.

Fragile, Handle With Care
This is my second elder brother carrying Ethan. He's the last of the close family to have carried Ethan. Initially he didn't want to carry the baby because he said he looked very fragile, hence the title above.
The foot, with long toes. Had to be held still by Jo. I was really having trouble capturing the pics of Ethan's feet all this while due to the low lighting inside our house. Without using the flash, minor movements would cause a blur due to slow shutter speed.
Now, here he is again posing and doing all the cheeky smiles. He's in a very good mood after being cleaned (bathed) and fed by Jo.
We have a model for hire. Warning: Do not fall in love with the model.

Hong San Si Temple
Located at Ewe Hai Street, this temple (known to the locals as Seo Long Kong in Hokkien) went through a facelift in the year 2004. I last visited this temple before the renovation and today is my first visit after the renovation was completed. There's also another temple close by which is popular among the locals too, called Tua Pek Kong Temple. It is currently under renovation. Tua Pek Kong is the oldest temple in Kuching. Will try to update after its renovation is completed.
All pics taken without flash, pretty difficult to capture the details especially on the inside.

EOS Experience Seminar
Conducted at Merdeka Palace & Suite Kuching, this is an experience seminar by Canon Malaysia for their canon users. However, I did find a lot of Nikon players around too. Briefing by the speakers were nicely done and simple, however the starting time was a little too early, from 8am and ended at 5.30pm (with food and drinks provided, then food and drinks again, and again). Canon is not only offering you a camera body with all the lenses available, they are offering their customers a solution, right from taking quality pictures, to processing and finally the prints all with the Canon products (what I learned today). It is definitely a wonderful experience to have, and the things I still have to learn is to shoot like how they are shooting, haha. Here're some of the pics I had taken today.

Head Up
Ethan managed to lift his head up on his own today. It's another milestone achieved.
He's lying on his front on top of me.

Photography Competition
There's a Bridal Fair cum Photography Competition going on at tHe Spring today and tomorrow. The bridal and digital imaging fair is organised by Sarawak Commercial Photographic Association.
SPAS (Sarawak Photography-Art Society) is having an exhibition cum charity sales for the Sichuan Earthquake victims priced at RM99 per photo. SPAS is also organizing a photo competition, which is opened to everyone and there's a RM2300 prize up for grabs for the best shot captured.
As you can see from the pics I posted here, there's a huge pack of photographers in the front of the stage so the angle of all my shots are confined to the side of the stage. Will try to provide better angling for the coming shoot tomorrow.
