A Chinese Wedding

These are some of the elements of a chinese wedding practiced by the Malaysian of Chinese race. There are still a lot of other requirements which I have yet to learn and take photos of. For starters, I can only provide the following...

A church wedding, for Christians. This is the St. Joseph's Cathedral (Catholic Church) situated at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Kuching.

This is the statue of the church's patron saint, St. Joseph, situated near the entrance of the church.

The bridal bouquet.

The wedding bands. The belief is that the rings will bond the husband and wife.

Oranges... errr... yummy? "Sweeten" the marriage?

Money being arranged into the shape of a fan, for the newly weds so that they will not be short of cash, hahahaha. It is part of the prosperity drive for chinese belief.

When the value of ringgit depreciate...these items will come in handy...

Tag of the luggage (kat-pit) brought by the bride to the groom's house, indicating that she's moving out from her house to a new home with the husband.

In the olden days, this is supposed to be kerosene lamps but presently (for convenience sake) one can get these battery operated lamps which are made in China. It's suppose to be lighted throughout the wedding day (some models may be a huge battery drainer like the ones pictured below), so be prepared with a lot of extra batteries.

I seriously do not know what this (urinary bowl) represent, but it is one of the things that you need for the wedding display. Oh yes, the golden chickens in the background are also part of wedding stuff required. In the olden days, they use LIVE chickens!!

All doors and wall of the groom's house will be pasted with this sticker, a chinese character (xi) meaning everlasting love.

The grand ride for the bride and groom.

The decorative bears for the ride.

The success of a beautiful wedding...Ethan's here.

A Chinese Wedding!! OMG, that’s great! The color scheme is brilliant and everything else is inspirational. In the next month I also would be attending a Chinese wedding of a colleague. It would be hosting at the prettiest hillside New York venues. I just can’t wait for it.
